ARMADILLO

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet our Armadillo, Diam. You will get up close and personal with this fascinating creature. You will spend quality time really getting to know him as he feeds from your hands! Every Armadillo has its own individual character that is a joy to discover. The Armadillo specialist will be on hand to give you insightful information and oversee you as you interact with the animal. You will be presented with a small tub of feed for the Armadillo.

MEERKAT

This is a great opportunity to meet our breeding pair of Meerkats "Mork and Mindy" and their babies. You will get very close and personal with this group of meerkats, they are not shy and will try to find out what treats you have instore for them. These little critters may climb onto you during this experience so please wear suitable clothing and footwear. You will spend quality time really getting to know them as they feed from your lap! The Meerkat specialist will be on hand to give you insightful information and oversee you as you interact with the animal. You will be presented with a small tub of feed for them.

RACCOON

This is an amazing opportunity to meet our Raccoon Picka. You will get up close and personal with this incredibly inquisitive animal. You will spend quality time really getting to know him as he feeds from your hands! The Raccoon specialist will be on hand to give you insightful information and oversee you as you interact with the animal. You will be presented with a small tub or toy full of enrichment food to give to the Raccoon. See how he works out how to retrieve the food using wit and dexterity. 

KEEPER DAYS, ZOO-TOT

AND KEEPER EXPERIENCES 

If your a budding zoologist or maybe just love animals this is an opportunity to become a zoo keeper.

This is your chance to get up close and personal with a range of animals as you become a zoo keeper, with access to the back stage areas that the general public don't usually see. Bugtopia the zoo is a family run business with a passion for all creatures no matter their size. The zoo is based at Sykes Lane,Empingham, Rutland water, LE15 8QL.

Your experience may include cleaning enclosures, feeding animals, and ensuring they are entertained and happy. You wiill look after any of the following but not all, meerkats, bats, agouti, civet, birds, lorikeets, reptiles, invertebrates and more. As well as your zoo keeper experience, you will also receive, entrance into the zoo and take home a certificate.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Once you arrive you will be given a health and safety briefing,  you will need to wash your hands before entering the enclosure, you will need to wear appropriate footwear and remove any jewellery or items in pockets. The keeper will be on hand to give you insightful information and oversee you as you interact with the animal/s.

There will be plenty of opportunities to take photos and videos of this unforgettable experience.

Please Note: Some experiences (except zoo keeper days) are suitable for spectators, they will need to pay admission on the day

Children Under 18 entering the Zoo must be accompanied by an adult admission charges apply

All experiences must be booked 1 week in advance of desired date and hold a 48 hour cancellation policy. All bookings are first come first served and we reserve the right to change or cancel the booking up until the time of entry into the enclosure due to yours and the animals health and safety.

Must be claimed within 6 months of purchase
